In memory
of R. Buckminster "Bucky" Fuller
July 12, 1895 - July 1, 1983
From his last in-depth interview
3-16-83
Published as part of his obituary in "Rolling
Stone":

Your
ideas have not always been well received, and
there have been some very difficult times in your
personal life. In these times of adversity, what
has kept you going?
Really one thing - love. It's that terribly
serious thing, love. Which you feel for your
mother and your wife and the other people around
you. I say that radiation is inherently
disintegrative; it comes apart. Gravity is
inherently integrative; it pulls together. And to
me, there's a good possibility that love is what
I'd call metaphysical gravity. It really holds
everything together. In my sense of the most
awful times of my life, there was still that love
there. I knew a lot of people loved me.

Hewlett
